Concerts, Carol Services & Recitals
St Clement Danes has a vivid musical life with our Director of Music Simon Over, church choir, and Ensemble-in-Residence. We can accommodate a versatile range of musical events. We hold many concerts throughout the year, as well as carol services during the Christmas Period. Bookings can be made up to two years in advance.
Rehearsals
SCD can accommodate various types of musical rehearsals in both the main church and crypt.
Weddings
To be married at St Clement Danes, a Special Marriage Licence is needed, which is granted the Archbishop of Canterbury's Faculty Office. The principal criterion for the grant of these licences is that a couple is able to demonstrate a genuine and demonstrable personal connection to the church. Applications of the below type would constitute such a qualifying connection:
- Current serving members of the RAF
- Current of former serving members of Commonwealth Air Forces if accompanied with a minimum of 6 months regular worship at the church.
- Former serving members of the RAF
- Children of current or former serving members of the RAF
- Grandchildren of current and former serving members of the RAF if accompanied with a minimum of 6 months regular worship at the church.
Memorials & Funerals
The same criterion for being married at St Clement Danes, apply for holding a memorial service or funeral here.
Filming & Photography
Located in the heart of London on the Strand, near the Royal Courts of Justice, St Clement Danes offers a unique location for filming and photography and has previously been featured in Bridget Jones’ Baby.

The Church
- Available for weddings, funerals, memorials, concerts, recitals, rehearsals.
- Integrated sound system and microphones.
- Grand piano, organ and chamber organ available.
- Full accessibility for wheelchair users including a disabled toilet.
- Parking available in churchyard.
The Crypt
- Available for baptisms, meetings, conferences, receptions, rehearsals, and as a green room.
- Seats 40 people, standing reception for 50 people.
- Grand piano available.
