2025 Heritage Open Days at St Clement Danes this September

 

This September, St Clement Danes is taking part in the Heritage Open Days on selected days from the 12th - 21st.

Heritage Open Days is England's largest community led festival of history and culture, involving thousands of local volunteers and organisations. Each year in September it brings people together to celebrate their heritage, community and history. Stories are told, traditions explored, and histories brought to life. It's your chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences- and it's all free.

SCD will be open to the public as usual during the Heritage Open Days and the church's historic crypt will be open too. 

Sunday recital: Charlie Newsome Hubbard & Malachy Frame, Soloist & Piano duo

On Sunday 14th September at 13.30 there will be a free afternoon recital by the by Charlie Newsome Hubbard & Malachy Frame. 

Malachy Frame (baritone) and Charlie Newsome-Hubbard (piano) will perform a recital of 19th century German Lieder, featuring one of Schumann’s seminal song cycles, Liederkreis Op.39.

Belfast-born Malachy Frame is a ‘Rising Star of the Enlightenment’ with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment for 2023-25. He is an award-winning concert and operatic soloist, performing frequently with renowned period ensembles and opera companies.

This short recital is free to attend, with a suggested donation of £10.

Free lunchtime recital: Joseph Hancock & Amy Bach

On Wednesday 17th September at 13.00, students from the Royal Academy of Music will be performing a free lunchtime recital with more of Schumann's Liederkreis Op 39.
