DESCRIPTION:\nJoin us for this recital series by students of the Royal Academy of Music\n\n\n\nFree admission, donations encouraged\n\n\n\nProgramme: \n\n\n\nBeethoven: Sonata No.21 in C major, Op.53, “Waldstein” (23’)Chopin: Polonaise Fantasy Op.61 (13’)Schumann: Drei Klavierstücke Op. 111 (11′)Chopin: Scherzo No.2 Op.31 (10’)\n\n\n\nSherri Lun – Piano\n\n\n\nSherri Lun, named ‘2020 Performing Artist of the Year’ by the South China MorningPost, has gained recognition for her “pinpoint clarity and convincing bravura”(Chicago Tribune).\n\n\n\nRecently selected as a 2025/26 Kirckman Artist, Sherri is also supported by theKeyboard Charitable Trust, Lang Lang International Music Foundation, and KNSClassical, with whom she released her debut album in 2023. Since making herconcerto debut at the Ravinia Festival with the Midwest Young Artists at age 10, shehas performed in major venues including Wigmore Hall in London, Fondation LouisVuitton in Paris, and Millennium Park in Chicago. Having performed extensivelyacross Europe, Asia, and the United States, Sherri’s recent engagements includeconcert tours in Italy and Malaysia, with upcoming debuts at Bridgewater Hall andKing’s Place in the forthcoming season. Sherri has also appeared with ensemblessuch as the Salzburg Chamber Soloists and Kölner Kammerorchester, and beenbroadcasted on Radio Television Hong Kong.\n\n\n\nSherri won First and Audience Prizes at the 2024 Birmingham International PianoCompetition, and is a 2025 Royal Over-Seas League award winner, following herFirst Prize win at the 2023 Hong Kong Generation Next Arts Competition. She hasalso received top prizes at the Robert Schumann (Düsseldorf), Zhuhai Mozart,ASEAN Chopin, Singapore, and Steinway & Sons Youth Piano Competitions. At theRoyal Academy, she won consecutively the Sterndale Bennett (2022), Chung NungLee (2023), and Harold Craxton (2024) Prizes.\n\n\n\nBorn in 2003, Sherri majored in piano and viola as a junior student of the Hong KongAcademy for Performing Arts. She is currently studying under Prof. ChristopherElton at the Royal Academy of Music on a full scholarship, supported by both theAcademy and the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme.\n
